1884 Second Edition. VERY GOOD. A clean, attractive copy. Ex-library although the only library markings are a small label on the inside pasted endpaper, an inked stamp on the title page and the residue of the label at the base of the spine. Some light creasing to first few leaves, otherwise text is near fine. Bound in black cloth over boards, with blind embossing and gold stamping on spine. Cover is lightly worn, with rubbing at spine ends and corners. Binding is a bit loose but all pages are secured and the book is square. Decorative endpapers with the Longmans design with "ship and swan". 4-1/2 x 7"; xiv + 321 numbered text pages and 1 ad page.
