The story in this book takes some unexpected twist that makes everything very intriguing. The plot is basic with subtle complexities that keep readers enthralled. The book seems to have a slightly romantic tone, as it follows the path of a Hebrew girl in ancient Egypt, and a young Egyptian officer. There is the young girl, the young man, the villain, the double cross, the prison island, ransom and extortion, and something a little like mutiny. All this from the perspective of the Egyptians. The story takes place during the Hebrew occupation of Egypt, it gave me a whole new perspective on the Egyptians, the land of Egypt, the Hebrews and the more classic story of the Exodus. This book is a must read for anyone who enjoys a great story, and it just might change your perspective.
