The plot takes part in the late 1800’s, when the personage - Martha Douglas Harris witnessed the vawes of the destruction of the tribes of the Cowichan Indians tribal culture in Canada, Vancouver. She herself is a half-blood daughter of the governor of the British Columbia. This book which represent not only Martha’s story, but the history of the nation, the history of the folklore, customs and traditions of the Indians. There is also a real story that was taken from Martha’s life – about her father and her mother’s marriage – a mixed one.
