Unspoken Sermon by J.F. Rutherford
Letter written on July 3, 1918 by J.F. Rutherford (second president of the Watchtower Society) the night before he and 6 others were to be transferred to the Federal prison in Atlanta, Georgia. (This letter is sometimes referred to as an "Unspoken Sermon.") The letter was signed by the other members of the Board of Directors who were also sentenced along with Rutherford. Text was reprinted in the Labor Tribune in 1919. Rutherford later named the movement Jehovah's Witnesses in 1931.
