Theresa Mary Gowanlock nee Johnson (1863- 1899) and Theresa Delaney nee Fulford (1849- 1913) were Americans who were kidnapped during the Northwest Rebellion on April 2, 1885. Miraculously they escaped from death and the book Two Months in the Camp of Big Bear is devoted to this topic. The book is full of horrible episodes and the women's impressions which are well drawn and truly wonderful.
