The Last Man: Zarathustra's speech to the people
this is the speech of Zarathustra to the people, das Volk. He delivers the omen that the Last Man is on the horizon. It is a warning. Man is about to factually lose his humanity in every sense. The Superman is the anti-pode. But here Zarathustra must speak of what is "most contemptible".
IT is necessary for us to reflect on these passages today, as they preserve an opposing perspective on ourselves - against which we must justify what we have become, or abandon it.
From a meditated and sympathetic reading of these passages one can enter Nietzsche's thought with the proper attitude.
