The Development of the Feeling for Nature in the Middle Ages and Modern Times
(Carl Julius Adolf) Alfred Biese (1856-1930) was a German literary historian and director of the K. K. Gymnasium at Neuwied. His works include: Theodor Storm und der Moderne Realismus (1888), Die Entwickelung des Naturgefühls im Mittelalter und in der Neuzeit (1888), Lyrische Dichtung und Neuere Deutsche Lyriker (1896), Deutsche Literaturgeschchichte (1911) and Poesie des Krieges (edited) (1915).
