These eBook's describe the satan's infleucne on the human being. Majority of people believe that satan is a myth and doesn't exist. Let us understand what the term "satan," means. According to Oxford Dictionary, the word "satan" means: Devil, Lucifer. According to the Oxford Dictionary, the term "devil" has a few meanings, some of which are:
1) (in Christian and Jewish belief) the supreme spirit of evil.
2) a very wicked or cruel person.
3) a mischievously clever or self-willed person.
Also, according to dictionary.com, the term "satan" means: "The evil adversary of God and humanity, often identified with the leader of the fallen angels; the Devil." So, according to dictionaries, the satan (which is also the devil) is immensely synonymous with evil. But, nowadays, if you ask a person whether or he believes in satan and the effects of the satan, the answers which you are likely to get are:
An Atheist & Hindu: Will tell you that the satan does not exist.
A Christian: Will say that satan does exist, but does/may not know how satan effects a human.
A Muslim: An average Muslim would say he believes in satan, but does not know how satan affects people, or the mechanisms of satan.
The following will give you an insight, to what the Islamic view of the satan (evil jinn) is, and how it affects every human being. I will also give you an insight, to how the satan (evil jinn) can scientifically be proven today, by using the help of science and technology. The purposes and reasons for why we Muslims believe in the satan, and the motives of the satan (evil jinn) will also be discussed. Today in the modern world of science and technology, very very few people know what exactly the satan (evil jinn) is, and majority of people do not believe it, and do not know the satan's effect which is disastrous.
Concept Of Satan - Islam:
What is the concept of the satan, in Islam? Let me make it clear to everyone. In Islam, it is taught that Satan CANNOT be "physically" seen, referring to the satan that affects us (the jinn), nor can any of us see the satan. Most people when they hear the word "satan" they create an image in their head of a evil looking red creature, with a barbed hook, with 2 horns and a tail and a ready looking complextion. We Muslims DO NOT believe that the satan looks like this, nor do we believe satan can been seen, but ONLY by God's will. This is because in Islam, the satan is an evil jinn, which is a can effect ever person, as a test for everyone.
In Islam, the satan is referred as the word Iblis, which originally comes from the original Arabic word: Abalis. The word: Iblis literally means: "to rebel" and "to deject." Iblis was created originally as a jinn, from smokeless fire. The difference between an angel and a jinn, is that an angel has not got a free will of it's own, and automatically obeys everything which God commands. A jinn however, has a free will of it's own, and can decide to reject or follow God's commands Angels were created by light, whereas the jinn was created by smokeless fire.
This jinn and was commanded (as well as angels) to bow down to Adam (prophet) of God, but refused to:
Surah Araf 7:11-13:
"We certainly created you (Adam), and then gave you (a human) form. Then, We said to the angels (including Iblis), Prostrate before Adam (in homage).â They all bowed down (to the ground) except Iblis. He was not among those who fell prostrate."
"We (God) asked, What kept you away? Why did you not fall prostrate when I commanded you? He (Iblis) said, âI am better than he (Adam). You created me from fire while You have created him out of clay!â
"We (God) said, âCome off it! You have no right (or reason) to (fancy and) flaunt your (imagined) eminence. Get out! You are among the disgraced (and banished).â
Surah Araf 7:16-17:
"He said: "Because thou hast thrown me out of the way, lo! I will lie in wait for them on thy straight way:
"Then will I assault them from before them and behind them, from their right and their left: Nor wilt thou find, in most of them, gratitude (for thy mercies)."
Notice here that the jinn (Iblis) rejected to God's command, and he had a FREE WILL to obey God. He was with a free will, while the angels were not. Hence, the jinn was NOT produced to sin, but ONLY to obey Allah. Even so, both the jinn and the angels were commanded the SAME thing in this situation, which was to bow to Adam NOT worship him, but just to bow down to Adam. Because Iblis was jealous and arrgant, he disobeyed God and he even blamed God for leading him astray (in Surah Araf 7:16) when in reality, God NEVER made him go astray, it was himself who had a FREE WILL, and refused to obey God. Since he was arrogant and jealous at that time and did NOT admit that he was in the wrong, he assured that he would lead most of mankind astray (Surah Araf 7:17), and because of this arrogance and enmity, he was thrown out of paradise as Quran says:
Surah Araf 7:18:
(God) said: "Get out from this, disgraced and expelled. If any of them follow thee,- Hell will I fill with you all.
This is why the jinn was called: Iblis. His arrogance and jealousy prevented him from obeying God, because he though Adam (created from clay) wasn't worth bowing down to, because he (jinn) was created from fire.
In Islam, we also believe that when Adam & Eve were in heaven, they were tempted by the jinn (i.e. satan) as a test for them, not to eat from the forbidden tree:
Surah Baqara 2:35-39
"We (Allah) said, Oh Adam, you and your wife may live in paradise. Here, the 2 of you may eat anything you wish, to your heart's delight. But do not come near this 1 tree. Else, you would be the wrong doers!"
"But Shaitan made them lapse and stumble; they forgot this (command). He had them both expelled from the happy state they were in. We (Allah) said, âGet down from here! Both of you (Men and Satan) are each otherâs enemies. On the earth shall be your habitat and your sustenance for an appointed term."
"Then, Adam learnt from his Lord the words (to repent with), and He accepted the repentance. Indeed, He it is Who accepts repentance, and He is the most Merciful."
"We (Allah) said, Get down from the paradise, all of you. (Wait) till the guidance comes to you from Me. Then, whoever follows My guidance shall have no fear. Nor shall he ever grieve."
"While those, who disbelieve and deny Our revelations, will (actually) be the inmates of fire. They will stay in it forever."
Notice here, that when they both of them disobeyed God, they REPENTED and admitted that they were in the wrong, and admitted that it was NOT God's fault that they were deceived, but it was both Adam and Eve who (with their free will) was influenced by satan to disobey God. Since both sincerely repented to Allah, both were forgiven and taken down to the earth, as a punishment and they would live on Earth with a free will, to obey God or not. The jinn (satan) was made to be mankind's habitat and sustenance for a certain amount of time. Why?
The Islamic belief for that is, that the satan (jinn) was made to affect all humans on earth, as a test for us. The satan wants humanity to do everything which is evil, harmful, etc. To past this test in life, a human would have to obey the commands of Allah in Quran, and do not follow the satan in our lives. Since a person has a free will of it's own, he/she will be responsible (in the after life) if he/she decides to follow the satan and commit actions, which God forbade, in Quran.
These eBook shows scientific proof that the satan exists, and shows that Quran is the ONLY religious scripture on the face of the Earth which tells us how satan effects us, and how to avoid it.
Today, if you go to a physiatrist and ask him/her: "What does a person with a mental illness (like OCD) experience in his/her thoughts?" The physiatrist will say the following:
Ideas of Harm: i.e. the ideas of killing oneself, killing someone else, swearing at someone else, repeatedly washing the hands (OCD symptom), physically harming others, creating mental scenarios of abuse and violence and torcher, etc.
Ideas of Lust: i.e. the ideas of perverted sexual ideas, ideas of committing adultery, ideas of raping people, creating mental images and scenarios of sexual acts, etc.
Idea of Blasphemy: i.e. the ideas of speaking of God, of what you have no knowledge of, ideas of abusing God, saying God has sons, wife, daughters, etc.
Dr. Aubrey O. Lewis (a famous doctor) agreed that a person with a mental illness does hear thoughts of harm, lust and blasphemy in his head.
We see clearly see a perfect match between what the people with a mental illness experience in thoughts, and what Quran says. The characteristics which the satan has (harm, lust and blashphemy) effect ALL of us, but even more so to people with a mental illness. If we analyse this verse in Quran:
Surah Nur 24:21:
"O ye who believe! follow not Satan's footsteps: if any will follow the footsteps of Satan, he will (but) command what is shameful and wrong."
What do we know today, is shameful and wrong? The physiatrists say that thoughts which are shameful and wrong, which people with a mental illness experience are:
Ideas of Harm: i.e. the ideas of killing oneself, killing someone else, swearing at someone else, repeatedly washing the hands (OCD symptom), physically harming others, creating mental scenarios of abuse and violence and torcher, etc.
Ideas of Lust: i.e. the ideas of perverted sexual ideas, ideas of committing adultery, ideas of raping people, creating mental images and scenarios of sexual acts, etc.
Physiatrists today, have understood that the thoughts (above) are shameful and wrong, which is why if a person continually heard these thoughts, he/she is likely to have a mental illness. What the physiatrists have said is shameful and wrong in the modern day, is already mention in Quran which was revealed over 1,400 years ago, from the verses I quoted.
Furthermore, if we analyse these verses:
Surah Baqara 2:14:
"When they meet those who believe, they say: "We believe;" but when they are alone with their evil ones, they say: "We are really with you: We (were) only jesting (mocking)."
Surah Baqara 2:169:
"He (satan) enjoins upon you only what is evil and what is foul, and that you say of Allah what you do not know."
Surah Maryam 19:88-89:
"Those who say: "God has begotten a son!" They have uttered a gross blasphemy."
Surah Zukhruf 43:15:
"Yet they attribute to some of His servants a share with Him (in his godhead)! truly is man a blasphemous ingrate avowed!"
Psychiatrists today, have understood that thoughts of blasphemy and thought of speaking of God (what one does not know about), is one of the major symptons for a mental illness. If a person does not continually experience thoughts of blasphemy, he/she is likely not to have a mental illness. Even so in Islam, if one still blasphemes, his/her companion devil (jinn) has influenced that person to blaspheme, by whispering into the neural nodes of our brain, (which hears these evil thoughts in our minds) with the same voice that one thinks with. Psychiatrists today try to stop these thoughts of harm, lust and blasphemy (for a person with a mental illness), so they're able to live easier and without these thoughts. Blasphemy (in particular) is the biggest sin in Islam. Psychiatrists try to stop blasphemy thoughts, so the person with a mental illness is less likely to carry out blasphemy acts (i.e. spreading blasphemous to other people, abusing God, etc). If the psychiatrist can help a person with a mental illness reduce these thoughts, that person (with a mental illness) is coming closer to Islam, because blasphemous actions (i.e. spreading blasphemous to other people, abusing God, etc) are prohibited in Islam, and if a psychiatrist can stop these thoughts (for a person with mental illness), that person is less likely to perform blasphemous actions, thus is coming closer to Islam.
Thus, we see that the evil thoughts of which the psychiatrists say a person with a mental illness hears in their head (which is blasphemy) is already mentioned in Quran as an "evil" deed, over 1,400 years ago. Therefore, there is a perfect match between the ideas of which people with mental disturbances hear and the ideas of the satan which he aims to whisper, which was already mentioned in the holy Quran, over 1,420 years ago. This is one way to prove that satan (evil jinn) does exist. Furthermore, as I said earlier, the satan does not need to be physically seen to know it exists, but we can analyze that it exists by analyzing the effects and results of it, and today not only people with mental illnesses are committing blasphemy, but many Atheists which are affected by the satan and they THINK they are so smart, yet they are deceived by satan, who encourages ALL of blaspheme against Allah, and many are doing this today proving satan exists.
