II was so offensive to Santa Anna that it was bought up and suppressed by him. This is untrue; the author distinctly states in a preface [Advertencia al 3. periodo, t. IV, p. vii] that he has postponed publishing it until he has obtained some further data that he expects, but that its omission does not affect the course of the narrative.
