Marie-Felicite Brosset's French translation (St. Petersburg, 1869) of the 13th century Chronicle by Mxit'ar of Ayrivan (1222- ca. 1290). This valuable work begins with Creation and continues until 1289. Nothing is known about the author except that he was a prominent Armenian archbishop, director of the monastery of Ayri or Geghard, and compiler of an enormous book of homilies.
