"Hidden Symbolism of Alchemy And the Occult Arts" by Silberer Herbert is a fantastic book where science helps to prove the existence of the astral and the occult. Silberer divided the book in two parts. In the first one he seems not to believe in the mystic, prejudices and even tries to refute it. And the second part is dedicated to prove the mystics and includes the objective analysis of the spiritual meaning of our dreams where the spiritual transmutation of the soul takes place. Silberer preceded Jung’s inferences and influenced his work a lot. After Freud rejected this book Silberer committed suicide.
