‘Gosk, Parts 1 and II', my 1994 and 1998 video(s), was adapted from this, my 1993 full-length motion picture screenplay. I wouldn’t know where to begin describing the tremendous influence “Gosk” has had on the work of various major people throughout the entire entertainment industry (except for influencing someone to actually produce it as a movie). The screenplay features four Mars Zuns, Derp, Swerp, Clerp and Jerp, while the video has only two, Clerp and Jerp. The screenplay features a string quartet in the woods, while the video has only one musician (a violinist) in the woods. The screenplay might cause you to feel that the part of Jerp could be best portrayed by Eric Clapton’s art director, while in the video Jerp is actually played (in Part II) by Joni Mitchell’s art director (Robbie Cavolina). So many things are different between the two. And many other things are very different. Yet while the screenplay is my original concept, and even includes an ending, the two are not world’s apart. I think if you value one you might just value the other.
