Studies on the fauna and taxonomy of Papilionoidea and Hesperioidea of Negros Island (Lepidoptera) (Results of entomological expedition to the Philippines-IV). Priamus 9(2/3): 57-110, 1 map.[in Turkish] This work is related to the fauna and taxonomy of the butterflies of Negros Island (West Visayans, the Philippines). Totally 293 species have been recorded up to the present time. The valid name, the author and the date of publication are given to all taxa. Taxonomical and faunistical references are mentioned, if necessary. Distribution in the Philippines of each species group taxa listed here are given. The names of islands of the Philippines are abbreviated. The country codes of ISO are used, if the world distribution of a taxon is given. A zoogeographical evaluation are mentioned for each species. If present, the information of the material examined is given for the relevant taxa. In the family Papilionidae, The nomenclatural status of the two names of Papilio helena Linn.,1758 and Papilio helenus Linn.,1758 are discussed. Troides astenous (Fabricius,1775) is proposed validly for Papilio helena Linnaeus,1758 (Syst. Nat. Edn.10 (1): 461 (nec Papilio helenus Linnaeus,1758 (Syst. Nat. Edn.10 (1): 459). (comb.n., sp.rev.). Separately, in the same family the name Troides rhadamanthus (Boisduval,1836) is proposed as the valid name for the relevant taxon (sp.rev.). In the family Lycaenidae, Eliotia Hayashi,1978 is invalid as it is junior homonym of Eliotia Vayssiere,1909, which is proposed in Mollusca. The valid name for the genus is Eliotiana Kocak,1996. Consequently, the new combinations are proposed as follows: Eliotiana circumdata (Schroeder, Treadaway & Hayashi,1981) (comb.n.), Eliotiana circumdata panayensis (Schroeder, Treadaway & Hayashi,1981) (comb.n.), Eliotiana jalindra indra (Moore) (comb.n.), Eliotiana jalindra macanita (Fruhstorfer) (comb.n.), Eliotiana jalindra burbona (Hewitson) (comb.n.), Eliotiana jalindra mingava (Fruhstorfer) (comb.n.), Eliotiana jalindra gamtara (Fruhstorfer) (comb.n.), Eliotiana jalindra degenerata (Fruhstorfer) (comb.n.), Eliotiana jalindra palavandra (Staudinger) (comb.n.), Eliotiana jalindra tarpina (Hewitson) (comb.n.), Eliotiana jalindra balabacensis (Schroeder & Treadaway) (comb.n.), Eliotiana jalindra maganda (Takanami) (comb.n.), Eliotiana jalindra mindorensis (Schroeder & Treadaway) (comb.n.), Eliotiana jalindra shiraishii (Takanami) (comb.n.), Eliotiana jalindra obsoleta (Schroeder & Treadaway) (comb.n.), Eliotiana plateni plateni (Semper) (comb.n.), Eliotiana plateni parvula (Schroeder & Treadaway) (comb.n.), Eliotiana mioae (Hayashi) (comb.n.), Eliotiana mariaba (Hewitson) (comb.n.), Eliotiana australis (Schroeder & Treadaway) (comb.n.). Taxonomical categories of higher taxa of some Lycaenidae and Hesperiidae are also discussed. The relevant taxa in the family Lycaenidae are arranged under 13 tribal and 11 subtribal categories in the 5 subfamilies. These are: Poritiinae (Poritiini), Miletinae (Miletini, Spalgini), Curetinae, Polyommatinae (Polyommatini (Nacadubina, Discolampina, Danina, Jamidina, Catochrysopsina, Lampidina, Leptotina, Zizeeriina, Celastrinina)), Theclinae (Amblypodiini, Aphnaeini, Remelanini, Hypolycaenini, Catapaecilmatini, Deudorigini, Cheritrini, Arhopalini (Arhopalina, Surendrina),Horagini). The relevant taxa in the family Hesperiidae are arranged under 6 tribal and 8 subtribal categories in the 3 subfamilies. These are: Coeliadinae, Pyrginae (Odontoptilini (Tagiadina, Odontoptilina)),Hesperiinae (Astictopterini (Astictopterina,Aeromachina, Halpina),Isoteinonini (Isoteinonina, Eogenina), Ancistroidini, Plastingiini (Plastingiina, Erionotina, Unkanina), Taractrocerini, Parnarini).
