The original account was published at Neuchâtel in 1730 This English version is evidently from the "Nouvelle édition avec des éclaircissements, etc.," Neuchâtel [1732] (cf. Catalogue de la Bibl. de Neuchâtel, 1861, p. 340) It is subscribed to (p. 13) by "eye-witnesses," "at Charles Town the 23d of September, 1731," signed: John Peter Purry ... James Richard ... Abraham Meuron ... Henry Raymond "Proposals by Mr. Peter Purry, of Newfchatel, for encouragement of such Swiss Protestants as should agree to accompany him to Carolina, to settle a new colony": p.
