This is a portion of the New Testament in Hungarian . More specifically, this is a copy of the original Gaspar Karoli edition of 1691. This New Testament marked the first time that the Hungarian people had a translation in their own language.
The book "History of the church in Hungary, from the beginning of the reformation to 1850" (d'Aubigne) [pdf] explains the history and the exiting events of those days.

Ez az Ujszovetseg Biblia magyar nyelven. Pontosabban, ez a Karoli Gaspar-kiadas 1691. Ez az uj testamentum volt az elso alkalom, hogy a magyar nep volt forditasat a sajat nyelvukon.
A History of the church in Hungary, from the beginning of the reformation to 1850 "(az egyház története Magyarországon a kezdetektÅl a reformáció a 1850)" (d'Aubigné) [pdf] magyarázza a múltban és a kilépés az akkori eseményeket.

53 - 1 Ki hitt a mi tanÃtásunknak, és az Ãr karja kinek jelentetett meg?
Felnott, mint egy vesszoszál O elotte, és mint gyökér a száraz földbol, nem volt néki alakja és ékessége, és néztünk reá, de nem vala ábrázata kivánatos!
Ãtált és az emberektol elhagyott volt, fájdalmak férfia és betegség ismeroje! mint aki elol orczánkat elrejtjük, útált volt; és nem gondoltunk vele.
Pedig betegséginket o viselte, és fájdalmainkat hordozá, és mi azt hittük, hogy ostoroztatik, verettetik és kÃnoztatik Istentol!
Ãs o megsebesÃttetett buneinkért, megrontatott a mi vétkeinkért, békességünknek büntetése rajta van, és az o sebeivel gyógyulánk meg.
Mindnyájan, mint juhok eltévelyedtünk, kiki az o útára tértünk; de az Ãr mindnyájunk vétkét o reá veté.
KÃnoztatott, pedig alázatos volt, és száját nem nyitotta meg, mint bárány, mely mészárszékre vitetik, és mint juh, mely megnémul az ot nyÃrok elott; és száját nem nyitotta meg!
A fogságból és Ãtéletbol ragadtatott el, és kortársainál ki gondolt arra, hogy kivágatott az élok földébol, hogy népem bunéért lon rajta vereség?!
Ãs a gonoszok közt adtak sÃrt néki, és a gazdagok mellé jutott kÃnos halál után: pedig nem cselekedett hamisságot, és álnokság sem találtatott szájában.
Ãs az Ãr akarta ot megrontani betegség által; hogyha önlelkét áldozatul adja, magot lát, és napjait meghosszabbÃtja, és az Ãr akarata az o keze által jó szerencsés lesz.
Mert lelke szenvedése folytán látni fog, és megelégszik, ismeretével igaz szolgám sokakat megigazÃt, és vétkeiket o viseli.
Azért részt osztok néki a nagyokkal, és zsákmányt a hatalmasokkal oszt, mivelhogy életét halálra adta, és a bunösök közé számláltatott; pedig o sokak bunét hordozá, és a bunösökért imádkozott!
