Tourism and Local Self Governing Institutions
This presentation makes the case for the critical need to involve institutions of local self governance (LSGIs) in rural, urban and scheduled areas in tourism planning and implementation. This is the only way that the needs of and impacts on local communities by tourism expansion and development can be taken into account. The rights and powers of LSGIs in tourism projects in their jurisdiction are delineated.
